The Modern Use of Executive Orders and Their Impact on Administrative Law

Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Noon—1:00 p.m.

Beginning with George Washington in 1789, United States Presidents have issued more than 14,300 Executive Orders under Article II of the U.S. Constitution, impacting such issues as: immigration, civil rights, healthcare, education, the economy, and more. But what is an Executive Order? How do they differ from laws passed by Congress? When can the President use Executive Orders and what are their limits? Please join Professor Mark Seidenfeld of the Florida State University College of Law for a lively discussion answering these questions and summarizing recent Executive Orders issued by the Trump Administration and their potential impact on administrative law. You can register on our website or by emailing Maria Daniels, admin@jaxfedbar.org. Please be sure to note if you have any special dietary needs.
