Summer Series: The United States Court of Appeals

June 13, 2019
9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse
300 N. Hogan Street
Jacksonville FL 32202

Welcome to federal court! The Summer Series is designed for law students working in Jacksonville and nearby areas. The goal is to bring to life much of what is studied in law school. Information about all eight events is available here.

You likely practiced an oral argument in your appellate advocacy class; now watch real oral arguments by the pros! Observe attorneys argue cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and then eat lunch with advocates and judges. Arguments begin at 9:00 and typically last until 11:00. Lunch will begin around noon and will be provided at no cost.

This event will be held at the Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse, Court of Appeals (13th floor) for arguments and Clerk’s Office Conference Room (9th floor) for lunch.

This event is limited to 30 students. Please RSVP by using the below form.

If you have questions regarding this event, you are welcome to email Katharine Roth at

Also, a few reminders: All Summer Series events are free. All events require business attire. You must have a valid i.d. to enter the courthouse. Each event requires a reservation, spaces are limited, and most events “sell out.” Be mindful that if you make a reservation, a seat will be saved for you and food will be bought for you. If you cannot attend, immediately contact Katharine Roth at (904) 549-1950 so your seat can be given to someone else.

Thank you and we look forward to having you join us!

This event has reached capacity and registration is now closed. Thank you for your interest. We hope that you are able to join us for a future event.
