Summer Series – The U.S. District Court

Date/Time
July 7, 2020
10:00 am - 1:00 pm

In this civil hearing before the Honorable Marcia Morales Howard, U.S. District Judge, you will hear argument on motions to dismiss a complaint filed by a sex trafficking victim against five hotels under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act. In the motions, the defendants argue, among other things, the plaintiff fails to allege sufficient factual allegations to plausibly state a claim for relief under the Act. After the hearing, join Judge Howard for a discussion about the work of a district judge.  Zoom video conference details will be sent upon RSVP.  Please note, you will receive two separate Zoom invitations – one for the hearing and one for the discussion.
