Summer Series: The Federal Grand Jury

June 27, 2019
3:30 pm - 4:45 pm

Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse
300 N. Hogan Street
Jacksonville FL 32202

Welcome to federal court! The Summer Series is designed for law students working in Jacksonville and nearby areas. The goal is to bring to life much of what is studied in law school. Information about all eight events is available here.

Grand juries are often mentioned in the news, but their work is shrouded in secrecy. This session will give you a behind-the-scenes tour of the meeting room for the federal grand jury and an opportunity to learn about what takes place during grand jury proceedings, why they are outside the public eye, and the important role of a federal grand juror.

This event is limited to 30 students and will be held at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which is located on the 7th floor of the Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse. Please RSVP by using the below form.

If you have questions regarding this event, you are welcome to email Derek Mountford,

Also, a few reminders: All Summer Series events are free. All events require business attire. You must have a valid i.d. to enter the courthouse. Each event requires a reservation, spaces are limited, and most events “sell out.” Be mindful that if you make a reservation, a seat will be saved for you and food will be bought for you. If you cannot attend, immediately contact Katharine Roth at (904) 549-1950 so your seat can be given to someone else.

Thank you and we look forward to having you join us!

This event has reached capacity and registration is now closed. Thank you for your interest. We hope that you are able to join us for a future event.
