FREE Ethics CLE breakfast with Tom Spahn October 1 (8:30 A.M – 10:00 A.M.)
One of the nation’s top ethics lawyers, Tom Spahn, will be presenting an entertaining and interactive ethics course during the morning of Thursday, October 1, in the 9th Floor conference room at the U.S. Courthouse in Jacksonville. The course, “Confidentiality – Strength and Scope of the Duty” (1.5 hours Florida Bar Ethics CLE credit pending) will be an interactive program that uses hypotheticals to explore one of our profession’s core duties – maintaining client confidences. Among other things, the program will address: the strength of the duty; the source, timing and content of information lawyers must keep confidential; when the confidentiality duty begins (in the context of unsolicited emails and interviews with prospective clients); when the duty ends; what steps lawyers must take to protect client confidences, especially in the context of electronic communications. Check-in and breakfast begin at 8:30; program begins at 8:45. Registration now open!
